Composite use of carbon materials and silicon materials to improve the practicality of anode materials for lithium-ion batteries

In order to meet market requirements, it is imminent to develop lithium-ion battery materials with high energy ratio.

Carbon materials
Graphite-based carbon materials are ideal anode materials, but with the continuous improvement of the country’s performance requirements for lithium batteries, graphite begins to show its shortcomings: low mass specific capacity, and the layered structure is easier after more cycles. Peel off.

silicon
Although it has a high mass specific capacity, as a negative electrode material, it will generate a large volume expansion, which further leads to a series of problems such as battery cycle life and safety.

Si/C composite
In the Si/C composite system, Si particles serve as the active material to provide lithium storage capacity.
C can not only buffer the volume change of the silicon negative electrode during the charge-discharge process, but also improve the conductivity of the Si material, and also avoid the agglomeration of Si particles during the charge-discharge cycle.

The composite use of carbon materials and silicon materials will greatly improve the practicability of lithium-ion battery anode materials.
